Dry needling is a procedure in which we use needles (acupuncture needles). We use it to create a microtrauma to the area to facilitate healing or we use it to go after trigger points because a muscle it too tight or overactive.
Have you ever seen black or dark red dots on athletes? They had cupping performed. It is used as a myofascial release and to bring blood flow to the area. It can help facilitate movement due to tightness of the skin and underlying tissue.
